Working through the mental grime

There's a lot of reasons to give up, right now, isn't there? I'm going to keep pushing through the mental grime and keep creating my work. It has nothing to do with the desire to be famous or wealthy. I would laugh at my younger self for even entertaining the notion that I would be able to sustain myself as a world famous writer. The trials and terrors of being a dreamer. Instead of focusing on compensation as a writer this year, I'm focusing on completion and artistry. I think it's going to be a very fun and productive year. I'm going to have fun writing!

2025 Approaches! Strange Aeons announced

Looking forward to 2025 and my writing goals for this next year, I'm really excited about a new project that I'm going to be hosting right here on this blog, I'm calling it STRANGE AEONS and its going to be an exploration of speculative fiction as well as the direction that speculative fiction itself is going in. I'm going to admit that I fell off the book tracking wagon and have decided that in the new year that I'm only going to focus on tracking them for my own needs, in a nice, cozy spreadsheet.  I'll probably still talk about the books that I've read but I'm not going to go all in on the social reading thing. I'll be setting my base goal as always, to 50 books per year and the idea of tracking them is at the very least to make sure that I don't end up reading the same things multiple times.  I'm going to attempt to squeeze in one more Terry Pratchett novel and I'm going to take a crack at Reaper Man, this is the 11th book in the series and follows along DEATH as he finds himself in search of a new job. I'm sure it'll be just as enjoyable as the others have been. I've been told that the later Pratchett novels are the best, but I'm hav...
